Kaitlyn Schembri is a social media maven and marketing strategist with expertise in social media marketing for businesses looking to scale. She brings over six years of experience in the industry, having worked on corporate marketing teams for big brands like Thomson Reuters as well as in the agency space for Assembly.
In June of 2021, Kaitlyn took the leap and followed her dream to run her own business and founded her boutique marketing agency, KS Media Co. In just under one year, Kaitlyn has delivered creative campaigns and stellar results for her clients, running campaigns on all social media platforms from LinkedIn to Instagram and building brand equity through authentic, forward-thinking content. Her clients have included companies like Wolters Kluwer, The PERIS Foundation, Resqared, and Full Umbrella Talent.

Please tell us about your business and the services you provide.
KS Media Co. is a boutique marketing agency that specializes in modern marketing for businesses looking to scale and sell with social media. We offer social media management, blog writing, email marketing, and marketing strategy consulting. The difference we provide is that we take a consultative approach with each client, specializing our packages to their unique needs.
How did you get started doing what you do? How has your career path/business evolved over time?
Similar to many entrepreneurs, it was a long and winding road to get to where I am today. As a lifelong lover of books, I graduated with my Bachelors in English Literature in 2015 from Binghamton University. I began my career working in publishing for a year, then shortly after moved to London for a Masters in Business program. I am passionate about travel and new experiences and, during my time abroad, I worked for the Head of Social Media at Thomson Reuters. This immersive experience taught me so much about working in the social media space and how nailing a social presence is a key challenge for many b2b businesses. After graduating, I said goodbye to my life in London and moved back to NYC where I worked in b2b marketing with a social media focus for the next few years, working my way up to be a Senior Marketing Manager. Then, Covid hit and, with the extra time working remotely, I was able to take on a few freelance marketing side gigs. These projects boosted my confidence and blossomed the seed of hope that I could one day work for myself. In June of 2021, I took the leap and started my own business! I have successfully grown my business to a steady roster of clients over the last 6 months and I am excited to continue on this journey.

What do you love most about what you do?
I love experiencing the growth my clients are seeing as a result of our partnership. My clients are getting more leads and increasing revenue while having more time to run their business. It is such a great feeling knowing I am a part of their success.
What makes your business unique?
One size fits all doesn't work in marketing. I take a consultative approach and develop unique marketing strategies for all of my clients.
Why did you decide to invest in visual branding for your business at this time?
My business has steadily grown over the last few months and my images did not reflect the entrepreneur I am today. Additionally, I was struggling with having enough professional imagery to showcase my social media business. I know having a collection of professional brand photos will help me stay consistent with my own social media, which is essential for growth!
