Brand Photography Spotlight: Campbell Minister Design

NJ brand photographer

Today, I am excited to introduce you to my client, Campbell Minister, Founder, Campbell Minister Design.

Campbell Minister Design (CMD) is a boutique, referral-led decorating firm. Campbell started her firm in 2017 while taking courses in interior design. She dove headfirst into a new build construction project, forcing her to become intensely focused on project management. Fast forward five years later and Campbell can be found leading a team of designers, operational support, and tradespeople to bring her clients’ vision to life.

Campbell acts on behalf of her clients at every step of the design process, caring for their home as if it was her own. She leverages strong working relationships with trusted vendors to execute each client’s vision.

As the daughter of a serial decorator, artist, and antique shop owner, Campbell has an innate sense of style and an eye for good design. Merging this background along with degrees in communication, education, and art history, Campbell uses these skills to successfully turn clients’ design ideas into gorgeously real spaces.

Campbell and I had worked together previously for her own brand photoshoot. As her business has grown and evolved, Campbell reached out for updated photos of herself and her growing team. We had a blast at one of her client’s beautiful homes and I’m thrilled to share more about CMD below!

How did you get started in the interior design industry/How has your career path evolved over time?

My entry into the field of interior design was not standard by any means. I was a teacher and leadership development coach before dipping my toes into the world of design. After staying home with my kids for 3 years, I signed up for an interior design certificate as a way to reenter the workforce. However, a client hired me to build their house from the ground up, and that became my “schooling” and seven years later, here I am!

What sets you apart from other interior design firms?

The client is truly at the center of our firm. I don’t have a set aesthetic. Im a bit of a chameleon in that way. So we truly individualize each project to be a reflection of the client’s lifestyle. In addition, we have a fabulous team providing an excellent customer experience.

What do you love most about what you do?

I love that no one project is the same. I am constantly learning, challenged, and inspired. It’s a very fast paced industry and never boring!

As an interior design expert, could you share your number one room design tip?!

Layout your furniture before you buy. Scale and proportion of furniture is often lost when making internet purchases. A recent client made a to-scale paper box model of a chandelier before they purchased it and that was genius! Now they’ll have no regrets later when we go to purchase the item for them.

Why did you decide to invest in visual branding for your business at this time?

I have to give credit to Sonja G Design for dragging me along to a visual branding session. We both realized our name and faces needed to be seen by our clients to develop trust and confidence.

If you could take a selfie with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

My grandmother. I miss her every day. She was the embodiment of style and the OG designer. Her warmth and love is something I try to embody. And her antique collection is sprinkled throughout my home.
